Making Snow Days

Life just keeps rolling right along... I'm trying to make a conscious effort to stop and smell the roses these days.  It's so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that you just rush, rush, rush right past all of those little things that actually matter.  Today in church, Greg talked about snow days... making a commitment to have one "snow day" each week... that is, practicing the sabbath for one 24-hour period each week, no matter what day.  Don't work... rest and replenish... rejoice in the Lord.  Dan and I talked about how to put this idea of a "snow day" into practice in our lives when we left church.  We haven't quite figured out all of the details, but we are going to make an effort, a real try.

Teagan FINALLY got to sign the wall for getting her back handspring!  Not sure what took so long... guess it's the process or maybe she just doesn't put up enough fuss.  She already has her round-off back handspring... and her standing two... and a host of other combos.  Not sure if those go on the wall or not, but I know that she keeps moving right along and we couldn't be more proud of her!!

Teagan and I had a mommy-daughter day and we had so much fun!  We ran errands, shopped a little, enjoyed lunch, took in a movie, shopped a little more... what a great day!  There were a million things I could think of that I 'should' be doing... working on the audit, cleaning our office, cleaning the bathrooms, etc., but none of them more important than bonding with my daughter!

I snapped this picture of Aidan and Dan watching a dirtbike movie the other night... I love seeing them spend time together.

Student Council decided to have a few fun days at school.  This picture is from the first Friday fun day, Purple and Gold.  The kids got all decked out in their Jackson gear... and although Mema was sick and we wouldn't wish that on her, it did give me an opportunity to help get the kids ready for school and off on the bus.  I don't get to do that often because I'm always in a hurry to get to work on time, but sometimes it's nice to have a 'snow delay' (thanks, Greg).
