Clean teeth and new shoes!

First day of Christmas break and it's time to get teeth cleaned!  Luckily I have their 6-month cleanings scheduled where they don't have to miss school, but I'm sure it's not how they wanted to start off their vacation... then again, NO cavities!  Yeah!  Aidan has been fortunate and no dental problems at all.  Teagan on the other hand, has a mess in her mouth.  I've lost count of the number of fillings... and her mouth is so crowded, I've lost count of how many teeth she's had pulled!  I think she only lost one on her own before she started having them pulled.  Bless her heart.  Not sure why I haven't started saving for braces because they are a guarantee!  Orthodontist every 4 months already... and she just turned 8! 

And I got a special treat tonight... well it actually started yesterday at work!  We have an annual fundraiser for our 'employee charitable giving fund' at work.  We put together baskets to raffle off, then the money raised goes into a fund to help support our employees in times of need.  I always buy tickets and then split them with my employees.  I never win (never have been a lucky person... let's not even talk about the amount of money I lost in Vegas years ago).  But this year was different!  I won a $75 giftcard to Dick's Sporting Goods.  And since the kids are spending the night with Grandpa and Grandma tonight, Dan and I headed to Dick's.  I've been wanting new running shoes to start training since I agreed to do the 5-person relay in the Canton Marathon 2012.  I've been getting opinions from everyone about what the best running shoe is, but when it came down to it, my lack of an arch demanded Asics.  I couldn't believe the difference between these shoes and my Nike's.  I felt like a new woman walking around the store!  Can't wait to actually wear them... bootcamp might be a whole new experience for me on Saturday!
