At 7:50am, I hear Teagan's new alarm clock blaring (she has clearly inadvertently turned it on) and I hear Teagan frantically running down the stairs and into my room. She is terrified. Not just because she wasn't expecting it, and not just because it was extremely loud and woke her from a dead sleep, but because she thought it was a fire alarm! I asked her what she's supposed to do if it had been a fire alarm to which she replied, "I don't know... run to you?" I think we may need a refresher. At any rate, waking up so early while on vacation was not what I had planned, but we made the most of it by snuggling in her twin bed.
Teagan had a playdate planned with her cheer teammate and friend, Kennedy. I took a quick picture of her as she was heading into Kennedy's because she looked so darn cute.
While the cat is away, the mice will play... or work, as the case may be. Aidan rode bikes with his friend, Dimitri, when the rain stopped. Dan took down the outdoor Christmas decorations... and he was oh so happy about it, can't you tell? I returned a few things at Kohl's and Walmart, and scored some nice work shirts for Dan on sale! Then I worked on the coat closet (with my new $5 bins Dan was so nice to go and get for me!) and we have a garbage bag full of old coats to donate.
And then the evening brought a house full of kids! Kennedy's over for a sleepover... and turns out she knows our friends down the street. There were 7 kiddos in here playing at once while I was working on the office upstairs... talk about craziness... and a delay in getting that office finished! I love it though. I hope the kids truly appreciate having so many friends and so many good memories surrounding their childhood when they are older. Here's a cute picture of Teagan and Kennedy from this evening.
Tomorrow is another day. And I don't go back to work until Tuesday, so I have plenty of time to get that office done... and our bedroom... and the playroom downstairs.... well, eventually it will all get done. Today was a good day, despite getting off track.
